NOSTALGIA SUPER STOCK — Foot-Brake Fury, Factory Steel Soul
Index racing, Sportsman Tree, foot brake only — Detroit’s finest back for another round of thunder.
Nostalgia Super Stock (NSS) is where factory steel meets factory attitude. These are the heavy hitters of the 1960s and early ’70s — Chevys, Mopars, Fords, Pontiacs — all built to look and launch like they did when bell-bottoms were new. You foot-brake it, stage it, and run it on a Sportsman Tree, because that’s how real Super Stockers roll. No boxes, no trick electronics, no deep staging — just driver reflex and big-block thunder.
Nostalgia Super Stock Highlights (Rulebook True)
- Format: Index-style foot-brake-only class on a Sportsman Tree. Qualifying by closest-to-index without breaking out. All-run field, laddered eliminations. Deep staging not allowed.
- Indexes: Full ladder from AAAA/FX 8.50 through M/NSS 13.00.
- Eligible Cars: Year-correct body and engine combos from true ’60s–early ’70s A/FX and Super Stock heritage — big-block Chevys, Mopar B/RB & Hemi, Ford FE/385, Pontiac 389–455, Olds 400–455, Buick 401–455, AMC 390, and more per rulebook.
- No modern crutches: No EFI, no nitrous, no delay or crossover boxes, no throttle- or bump-boxes, no traction control. Carb or mechanical injection only.
- Tree: Full Sportsman Tree — slower flash, higher tension, maximum drama.
- Safety: NHRA ET/MPH compliance — roll cage, belts, suit, and helmet per your ET. Authenticity bows to safety, but not much else.
- Lane choice & ladder: Laddered by qualifying order; closest-to-index typically earns first pick of groove.
Authenticity, attitude, and asphalt — that’s the NSS way. No excuses, no electronics, no deep-stage drama.
Bottom line: NSS is heritage on the hit — a living time capsule with open headers. It’s you, your foot brake, and Detroit’s best decade on four slicks. Bring your big block, your bravado, and maybe a spare driveshaft — when the lights drop, it’s all nostalgia and no mercy.
